ZMR Technology

Eagle Electric has successfully designed, developed and put into production Zero-Make-Ready Technology. Zero-Make-Ready Technology significantly reduces set-up time, spoilage and optimizes press performance through the elimination of costly acceleration/deceleration cycles. Depending upon run lengths, ZMR Technology can double, and even triple the signature production of a standard press while maintaining much the same spatial footprint!

As publishing houses continually refine and reduce their business equations, their demand for smaller order quantities often places manufacturers in a position in which they spend more time in the make-ready process than they do in run mode. With this significant downtime-to-production ratio, book manufacturers are faced with the daunting prospect of spoilage as a considerable and alarming percentage of any job.

The solution to the climbing cost of spoilage is, quite simply, the elimination of the problem. Through it's collaboration with partners 3P and E.R. Smith and Associates, Eagle Electric has developed a proprietary technology that makes Zero-Make-Ready a reality, while maintaining crucial "machine paced" status of the press. This avoids the costly slowdown associated with "crew-paced" systems ensuring that Zero-Make-Ready is more than just a buzz phrase.

Integration of Water and Ink systems at the Console Level

This modification allows the press operator to observe and change water and ink mixtures without leaving the operators console, resulting in dramatically increased productivity and control and, ultimately, a reduction in wasted signatures.

Touch Screen Monitor Console Modification

Eagle engineers install and program touch screen monitors at the operator's console allowing for increased ease of use, extended operating functions, and heightened efficiency.

PLC (Programmable Logic Controls) Program Changes

Eagle's engineers provide a complete range of PLC programming from minor program changes to complete program overhauls and custom PLC solutions. Many clients find that program changes allow for greater efficiency as a result of reduced code redundancy. Unnecessary code can be stripped away allowing for faster scan times and custom code can be written to a clients specifications.

Press Rebuilding, Modification, Programming and Installation

Eagle maintains a World-Class staff of engineers and electricians that specialize in the rebuilding, modification, installation, and programming of presses. This team delivers solutions designed to dramatically increase a client's Return on Investment (ROI). The presses rebuilt, modified, and programmed by Eagle engineers are, at the minimum, as good as new. Generally, it is the client's experience that Eagle's services result in a press that is better than new as a result of Eagle's extensive suite of solutions in this arena. All of the below modifications can be added to a press either during the rebuild process or at any time onsite at the customer's facility. • Complete Rebuild:
  Eagle delivers completely rebuilt presses on time and within budget. In coordination with E.R. Smith and Associates, Eagle Electric offers complete press overhauls, including mechanical as well as electrical rebuilds, with the end result being a startlingly clean and functional, as good as new or better, press. Generally, this process is carried out in Eagle's westerly RI facilities allowing for the minimization of downtime on the customer's end.
