The New London County 4-H Camp Teen Leadership (TL) program is an outdoor, experiential learning program for teens who are 14 years or older or are going into 9th grade (13 years old with a "late" birthday). The Teen Leader program is divided into two levels, TL1s and TL2s. Both levels work with the TL Director(s) developing general leadership skills including, but not limited to problem solving, creativity, teamwork and citizenship. The program is centered around a low Ropes challenge course but also includes individual team building games and workshops in positive peer praise. Both TL1s and TL2s have responsibilities around camp which include working with younger campers. TL2s have the opportunity to work and live directly with younger campers while TL1s live in their own cabins. In sum, the TL program is one in which teens learn valuable leadership skills that they may not only use at camp but in their schools, homes and communities.

Selected individuals may be invited back on a week-to-week basis at the discretion of the camp director.
